How To Set Yahoo email In Ms Outlook

There are more benefits when we open the email (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc..) using an email Client Software  such as Microsoft Outlook. Accessing will be faster because we do not need to open the browser to login, opening the mail with no ads and no popup. Using email client software we also still be able to open the email archives without having to connect to the internet.


In this post I will tell  you how to set  Yahoo mail using Ms Outlook (2007), so that we can receive and send yahoo email  using Microsoft outlook. (For Ms. Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2010 on the principle is the same, only different in appearance only)

Below the steps :

• Login to your Yahoo Mail (to activate the POP facility)
• Go to Menu Options 
• Select / click on  Mail Options
• Select the OPTIONS Tab

• Click on the POP & Forwarding 
• Give a tick to the Access Yahoo! Mail Via POP
• Click Save
• Log out and exit from the browser





• Open Microsoft Outlook 2007
• Click on the Tools menu, then select Account Settings




• On the E-mail tab, click New



• Give a tick  to the Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next


• Select Internet E-mail. Click Next




• Fill in the fields, name and your email address
• Account Type: POP3



• Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
• Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
• Fill in your username and password
• Click on More Settings

• Select the Outgoing Server tab, give a tick in the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication


• Go to the Advanced tab
• Give a tick on This server requiresan encrypted connection (SSL)
• Make sure the  Incoming server (POP3) Port: 995



Outgoing server (SMTP) port : 465
• In the Use Following type of encrypted connection, select SSL
• If you need, give a tick on the Leave a copy of messages on the server (so that the mail that has accessed using Ms outlook, still stored at the server and can be opened via the internet browser)
• Click OK


• To test if the settings are correct, click on Test Account Settings


• If successful, the status will be Completed and no error appear.


• Click Close, and on the next window click Next and click Finish

Now you can send and receive Yahoo e-mail through Microsoft Outlook.
